LEKKER ZA TOUR

John Belknap an American who is an Australian Ulyssean who toured SA and you can read his story of his travels here. Due to the nature of the write up you will need to download the file to your pc before reading. GET IT HERE.

A voice from the past……Dave Pieterse who started up the Maluti Chapter before he was transferred to Europe by SA Breweries.

Hi Mauritius, Hannes and Penny,

(I trust you still remember me starting the Lesotho/Maluti chapter a few years ago?)

I am still based in Budapest with SA Breweries and travel a lot across Eastern and Central Europe. I arrived in RSA yesterday for a short visit and the second thing I did was buy a BikeSA.  It was great to see the Ulysses info on p138 of the Feb edition. I’m also glad to see the Maluti Chapter seems to be still alive! Well I have not been able to do much riding in Eastern Europe last year, but for this summer I have already lined up a tour with a few people I met in Hungary and Czech Republic. When I read the article on the Russian bikers (in the BikeSA), I really understand what they are like – I travel to Moscow at least once every 6 weeks (last week it was minus35celcius there!!) Well, I wish you many happy miles with Ulysses and I will try and contact you again on my next visit later this year.

Regards,

Dave Pieterse

P.S. The first thing I do when I get to SA is to eat a proper steak!!!!

Peter Kemp has returned from the hills having flown the Ulysses Flag high above the plains of Africa as well as having left a memento attached to the structure on top of Kilimanjaro for all to see. Thanks to Pierre Gonneau for donating this.

HIGH VISIBILITY RAIN SUITS

These suits are great in poor visibility, motorists can see this bright orange for miles. In terms of safety, this is a great step forward,  to give motorist more of an opportunity to see us bikers. Furthermore the reflective strips further enhance visibility at night or failing light situations.

The suits in stock have the Ulysses insignia on the left chest.  The next order could be done with the large Ulysses back patch sewn on the back. This idea is under consideration. There are 12 in stock at present  -  11 x  2XL,   1 x 3XL.

The cost of these suits are  R 300.00 ea. Plus R40 Postage anywhere in South Africa.                                                                                           Available sizes are S through to 5 XL.                                                      The factory takes a minimum orders of 30.

Please email or fax  your orders to Penny at the National Office 043-7353556 phone/fax, Cell 072 287 6288 or email ulyssessa@telkomsa.net
